WeAr Denim: Responsible Stretch

RESPONSIBLE STRETCH

Skinny and straight comfort jeans remain popular in denim collections. To meet the demand for comfort in a more responsible way, some companies are seeking bio-based or recycled elastane as an alternative to traditional petroleum-based products. Several alternative fibers are available, including Creora® Regen made from 100% GRS-certified recycled elastane, Lycra® T400 EcoMade with 50% recycled PET content and 18% plant-based material, Roica™ V550, a Cradle to Cradle-Certified™ stretch degradable yarn, and CiCLO®, a textile additive that combined with polyester and nylon during melt extrusion creates biodegradable fibers and yarns.
